Quiet Despair

QUIET DESPAIR
BY: CONSTANCE SORROW

For days and days I sit in wait
To hear from you my decided fate
I sit and wait in quiet despair
Yet still no call from you is there

Exposing my heart for you to see
But you have forgotten me
I wait and cry in quiet despair
I've learned you do not really care

I give myself again and again
Searching for my only friend
I cry and sigh in quiet despair
This troubled time is mine to bear

To bear alone, it is my fear
Because you are no longer near
I sigh and sleep in quiet despair
My burden heavy, now I don't care

I've given up, I'm giving in
You've fallen short, my faithful friend
I sleep and sleep without despair
My heart, with no one, I will share
